Secure, Convenient Mobile Banking

Mobile Banking allows the following types of services from virtually any phone with text capabilities:

  • View account balances
  • View transaction history
  • Receive "alerts" on banking transactions

Web-enabled phones using its web browser, and Smartphones using the Mobile App, can also:

  • Transfer funds between accounts2
  • Make loan payments or advances
  • Pay established billers, plus view and modify pending payments
  • Find the nearest branch or ATM

Downloading and Installing the Mobile App

Follow the steps below to download and install First American Bank's Mobile App on your iPhone or Android device. Please note you must be enrolled in Online Banking to utilize the Mobile App. Click here to enroll in Online Banking.

STEP 1: Download & Install App

STEP 2: Tap the icon to login

STEP 3: Enter your Online Banking Access ID, then Submit

STEP 4: Correctly answer the Challenge Question from your Online Banking setup

STEP 5: Enter your Online Banking password, then Login

Mobile Deposit

Enjoy the convenience of depositing checks from your smartphone.

Mobile check deposit is as easy as logging into the First American Bank mobile application, snapping a picture of your check, entering the amount and pushing a button. It’s simple and secure.

To get started with Mobile Deposit

  • A compatible Android or iPhone smartphone
  • The FAB Banking mobile app
  • A FAB personal checking or savings account in good standing that has been enrolled in Online Banking
  • A valid email address on file

How to Deposit a Check

  1. Log in to the First American Bank app
  2. Select "Deposits" from the lower navigation bar
  3. Select the account and type the amount of the deposit
  4. Endorse the check with your name and "For Mobile Deposit Only"
  5. Take a picture of the front of the check
  6. Take a picture of the back of the check
  7. Select "Yes"

Is there a cost for this service?

Mobile Deposit is a free service. Data usage rates may apply.

How should I endorse a Mobile Deposit check?

Be sure that the back of the check is endorsed, as usual, plus include the words “For Mobile Deposit Only” to identify the item as a Mobile Deposit. Incorrect endorsements will result in the deposit being rejected.

When are the funds available from a Mobile Deposit?

All deposits made prior to 3 PM CST will be processed the same day. Mobile Deposit funds are generally available on the 2nd business day; however, funds may be held for up to 10 days.

What should I do with my paper check?

Securely store your check for 14 business days, then destroy the original paper check.

What types of checks can I deposit?

You can deposit any check drawn on a U.S. financial institution. The following items cannot be deposited using Mobile Deposit:

  • Foreign checks
  • Credit card checks
  • Checks not payable in U.S. currency
  • Items that are reproductions of the original (substitute checks, IRDs)
  • Savings bonds
  • Third-party checks that are made payable to someone other than the account holder
  • Stale-dated checks (dated more than six months prior to deposit date)
  • Post-dated checks (future dated)
  • Checks with a blank payee
  • Checks that are missing the maker’s signature
  • Altered checks
  • Checks endorsed improperly

First American Bank’s free online Bill Pay allows you to manage your bills anytime, anywhere. Electronic payments are fast, convenient and secure. Take control of your finances with monthly payment reminders, schedule recurring payments and view electronic bills. Other benefits include:

  • Vendor Search. Add new vendors simply by typing in the company name. If a match is found in the database, the vendor's information will be added automatically. No more hunting down mailing addresses!
  • Reminders. Never make a late payment again! When you set up reminders, you'll receive a message telling you when your payment is due.
  • Pay from multiple checking accounts. Choose which checking account to pay your bills from.
  • Make recurring payments. Eliminate the hassle of paying monthly bills by setting up recurring payments. This is a great option for payments that don't change from month to month — such as your car payment or mortgage.

Mobile Banking Security Tips

  • To help protect your phone from unauthorized use, it is advisable to have a passcode to access the phone.
  • Download and apply security updates and patches to your mobile browser when they are made available by your wireless provider. These are designed to provide you with protection from known possible security problems.
  • To prevent viruses or other unwanted problems, do not open attachments from unknown or untrustworthy sources.
  • Do not open links from unknown sources. First American Bank will never email, text or call you for your mobile or online banking logins or other sensitive information
  • Do not install pirated software or software from unknown sources. Be aware of the potential for fraudulent mobile banking apps.
  • Limit unauthorized access to your cell phone. Do not leave your mobile phone unattended during an open mobile banking session.
  • Never save your User ID and Password, or other sensitive information, in the mobile phone, in memos, or anywhere on your device.
  • Always remember to log off properly using the “Sign Off” button when you have completed your mobile banking activities.
  • If you use SMS mobile banking, note that text messages are not secure and should not be used for transmission of sensitive information
  • If your phone is lost or stolen, contact your wireless carrier immediately to stop your wireless service.
  • If your phone is lost or stolen, un-enroll your device by logging into Online Banking, then click Options > Mobile Banking Profile > Manage Devices. Choose “Stop using this device for Mobile Banking”, then click Go
