Enjoy the secure and convenient Online Banking on your mobile device. First American Bank offers a number of mobile options including Mobile App, Mobile Web, and Text Banking all for FREE.

Mobile Banking allows these services from virtually any phone with text capability:

  • View account balances
  • View transaction history
  • Receive “alerts” on banking transactions

Using the mobile app or web browser on your smartphone also offers:

  • Transfer funds between accounts
  • Make loan payments or advances
  • Pay established billers
  • View and modify pending payments
  • Find the nearest First American Bank branch or ATM

Download and Install the Mobile App

Follow these steps to download and install the First American Bank Mobile App on your iPhone or Android device. Please note: you must be enrolled in Online Banking in order to utilize the Mobile App. Click here to enroll.

Step 1: Download and install the app

Step 2: Tap the icon to log in

Step 3: Enter your Online Banking Access ID, then Submit

Step 4: Correctly answer the Challenge Question from your Online Banking setup

Step 5: Enter your Online Banking password, then Log In

Mobile Deposit

Deposit checks into your First American Bank account through the Mobile App. Log in, snap a picture, and enter the amount to deposit checks anytime, anywhere.

What you need:

  • A compatible iPhone or Android device
  • The First American Bank mobile app
  • A First American Bank personal checking or savings account in good standing that is enrolled in Online Banking
  • A valid email address on file

How to Deposit a Check

Step 1: Log into the First American Bank app

Step 2: Select Deposits from the lower navigation bar

Step 3: Select the account and type the amount of the deposit

Step 4: Endorse the check with your name and For Mobile Deposit Only

Step 5: Take a picture of the front of the check

Step 6: Take a picture of the back of the check

Step 7: Select Yes when all information has been entered correctly

Mobile Deposit Tips

  • Before logging into the app, close all other apps running in the background on your mobile phone
  • Flatten folded or crumpled checks
  • Sign/endorse the back of the check properly (the check must be endorsed “For Mobile Deposit Only”)
  • When prompted for the amount:

  • Carefully enter the check amount to ensure it matches the amount on the check *$1,000 limit for mobile deposits. Please contact your banker for more details

When prompted to take a picture of the check:

  • Take the photos of your check in a well-lit area
  • Place the check on solid dark/contrasting background
  • Try not to get too much of the area surrounding the check
  • Keep the check within the view finder
  • Make sure that the entire check image is visible and in focus
  • Ensure all four corners are visible
  • Ensure there are no shadows across the check
  • Ensure the MICR line (numbers on the bottom of your check) is readable
  • Hold the camera as square to the check as possible to reduce corner to corner skew
  • Keep your phone flat and steady above the check when taking your photos

Is there a cost for this service?

  • Mobile Deposit is a free service. Data usage rates may apply

How should I endorse a Mobile Deposit check?

  • Make sure the back of the check is endorsed, as usual, and include For Mobile Deposit Only to identify the item as a Mobile Deposit. Incorrect endorsements will result in the deposit being rejected

When are the funds available from a Mobile Deposit?

  • All deposits made prior to 3pm Central Time will be processed the same day. Mobile Deposit funds are generally available on the 2nd business day; however, funds may be held for up to 10 days

What should I do with my paper check?

  • Securely store your check for 14 business days, then destroy the original paper check

What types of checks can I deposit?

You can deposit any check drawn on a U.S. financial institution. The following items cannot be deposited using Mobile Deposit:

  • Foreign checks
  • Credit card checks
  • Checks not payable in U.S. currency
  • Items that are reproductions of the original (substitute checks, IRDs)
  • Savings bonds
  • Third-party checks that are made payable to someone other than the account holder
  • Stale-dated checks (dated more than six months prior to deposit date)
  • Post-dated checks (checks with a future date)
  • Checks with a blank payee
  • Checks that are missing the maker’s signature
  • Altered checks
  • Checks endorsed improperly

Our free online Bill Pay service allows you to manage your bills anytime, anywhere. Electronic payments are fast, convenient, and secure. Take control of your finances with monthly payment reminders, schedule recurring pyaments, and view electronic bills. Other benefits include:

  • Vendor Search – add new vendors by typing in the company name. If a match is found in the database, the vendor’s information will be added automatically
  • Reminders – never make a late payment again! Set up reminders to receive a message telling you when your payment is due
  • Pay from multiple checking accounts – Set up recurring payments to eliminate the hassle of paying monthly bills
  • Payment Center – Make payments and view pending payments, recent payments, and bill reminders all on the same screen
